Wine is bottled poetry

As you probably know, we are situated in the heart of Stellenbosch. The wine bars are all a 3 to 10 minute walk away, making it the perfect place to go for pre-drinks before indulging at any of the wonderful restaurants in the town center. It's also a great way to sample wine if you don't have the time to visit any of the many world-class wine farms in the area.

Simon Wine Bar

The all new wine bar named after Stellebosch’s founding father Simon van der Stel is only a 3 minute walk from our doorsteps. They offer a variety of wines from our world famous region in the relaxed setting. Pair your favourite glass with their specially designed tapas menu around the cosy fireplace in a heritage building that dates back some 300 years. Outside seating is also available.

Kaapse Vonkel MCC and Oyster Bar

Bubbly and oysters! This is a match made in heaven. Producers of South Africa's first Méthode Cap Classique, the iconic wine estate Simonsig (whose wine you’ll find in our mini bars) is exclusively paired with the finest fresh cultivated Saldanha Bay oysters in a classic environment, ensuring you a truly titillating experience. De Warenmarkt is known for its street-food restaurant serving burgers, rotisserie chicken, tostadas and beer-battered fish and chips, so you won’t go hungry.

Brampton

In the heart of Stellenbosch lies the Brampton Wine Studio. It is a creative social space, bringing together lifestyle wines with colourful ideas. This is a local favourite, especially amongst the students.

Here you can take time out from life's frenzy and find your inspiration while enjoying some great Brampton wines or distinctive Brampton Cape Lager, and delicious eats from pop-up chefs extraordinaire, Vagabond Kitchens. From tasty tapas to their legendary flatbreads and more, everything is fresh, seasonal and bursting with flavour.

Bartinney Wine & Champagne Bar

This little gem is classic. It has the perfect mix of vintage and contemporary. Guests can enjoy tapas at the old wooden bar counter or on the vintage tables that flow onto Bird street. The Bartinney wines are the flagship and the mischievous Noble Savage range makes good quality wines accessible. Celebrate with some Brut Savagé Méthode Cap Classique or French Champagne.
