Studio Apartments (Self Catering)
Bonne Esperance’s studio apartments provides an alternative form of luxury accommodation that retains all the quaint charm and top-quality hospitality that forms our character.
The studio apartments are situated 50 m from the main bed-and-breakfast house and is also in an old, Victorian building, lovingly renovated to perfection. The home now boasts 8 semi-self-catering studio apartments and is across the road from the picturesque University of Stellenbosch Botanical Gardens. Each studio includes the following: en suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, LED flat screen televisions with satellite bouquet, lounge/dining space and kitchenettes with microwave, refrigerator, kettle, toaster, cutlery and crockery. Each room has been decorated in a modern classic style to compliment the Victorian Villa with all the comforts one would need.
The house dates back to the early 1900s, where it was part of a farm called Evergreen. After the house was built, it and the land was acquired by the De Wet Brothers. It was then owned by the University of Stellenbosch from 1941 until 1995 and was mainly used used as practice rooms for the music department. Since then, it has been used as doctor’s rooms for a private practice. While the original ceilings and light fittings have been replaced, the original timber floors and most of the structure of the house remain.
The studios are decorated in keeping with the charming style that Bonne Esperance is known for but with a modern twist. All the rooms are on ground floor with ample outside seating space on the veranda or around the splash pool.
Parking is also provided on the premises.
Please note that this property does not have a breakfast room and the reception desk will be at Bonne Esperance Guest House on the corner of Neethling and Van Riebeeck street. Breakfast is optional at the main house at an additional charge of R140 per person.
Kindly note that the rate excludes a 1.15% tourism levy that will be charged upon check-out.
