Arts and Culture
Stellenbosch and its surrounds have a vibrant arts and culture scene. Stellenbosch University’s music department regularly holds music concerts of exceptionally high quality at its acoustically brilliant Endler Hall. During the summer season, the Oude Libertas amphitheatre hosts professional dance, opera, theatre and music concerts which are very popular with locals and tourists alike. The Klein Libertas theatre is popular with students as it regularly hosts plays and rock concerts. There are also a number of art galleries where select artists display their talents for members of the public to enjoy (and perhaps buy). The museums and tours of Stellenbosch’s historical buildings are also very popular with both young and old.
