We are happy to share our knowledge of the casual dining options with you. It must be stressed that these recommendations are based purely on our own experiences. We are swayed neither by advertising claims nor promotional hype.

Basic Bistro
Be sure to make a booking or arrive early. This is a very cosy, intimate restaurant where you can have a great meal with an affordable price tag. They offer fantastic burgers, pasta dishes and steak.

Craft
Contemporary craft beer bar and eatery. This is nice option if you are looking for pre-dinner drinks or something light and casual.

De Warenmarkt
De Warenmarkt is a pleasant mixture between a buzzing artisanal food market and a friendly local restaurant, housed in the heart of Stellenbosch, in a beautiful heritage building.

De Vrije Burger
Bertus Basson’s takeaway burger joint, situated in the heart of Stellenbosch, serves 200g free-range beef burger patties (with your choice of additional toppings). Because there are few things that can beat a burger done right.

Hudsons
Famous burgers and craft beer joint has become an institution amongst the students of Stellenbosch.
Its relaxed urban feel and innovative menu makes it the perfect spot for casual night out.

Manousche
Lebanese Cuisine at its best with the manousche (Lebanese wrap) being the signature dish. Vibrant side walk café with a very entertaining chef.

Is a contemporary eatery with a warm and a very welcoming atmosphere. They offer an extensive range of dishes and cocktails. Their gin selection alone is reason for a visit.
